Nicolas is a Partner leading the Energy Infrastructure team in São Paulo, Brazil, where he relocated in 2021 after spending nearly a decade in our Mexico City office.
He started his career with the Actis Energy Infrastructure team in 2011 and has been instrumental in building out Actis’ Latin America team and track record. He has been involved in many of Actis’ flagship investments in the region, including Orygen Energia, Serena Energia, Atlas Renewable Energy, Saavi Energia, Zuma Energia, Globeleq Mesoamerica Energy and Energuate. These companies have developed, built and amassed over 12GW of generation capacity across Latin America, and as a single portfolio would comprise the largest renewable energy asset base in Latin America.
Prior to Actis, Nicolas was an investment banker within Citigroup’s Latin America Investment Banking team from 2007 to 2010, where he focused on transactions in the energy and infrastructure space. He started his career in 2006 at BOT Consulting, a boutique strategy consulting firm in Colombia.
Nicolas holds a BSc. in Economics from Universidad de Los Andes and an MBA from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
