Since joining Actis in 2019, Hernan has been a key team member on numerous Energy and ALLIF deals, providing support to platform management on matters such as the construction of thermal and renewable projects, acquisition due diligence, and contract negotiations. Hernan also serves as a Board Observer and leads the Technical Steering Committees of several portfolio companies, including Azura Power, Valia Energía and Bridgin Power. He has also served on several technical steering committees of realised investments, including Saavi Energía and Echoenergía. Hernan has also played an integral role in developing Actis’s low carbon hydrogen strategy and is currently leading the technical development of Project Marathon, Actis’s first green hydrogen project in Oman.
Prior to joining Actis, Hernan worked for eight years at Pampa Energía, Argentina’s largest integrated energy company. There, he served as Engineering Manager for the New Ventures Department and as Deputy Project Manager on several thermal and renewable power plant projects.
Hernan holds two BSc degrees with honours in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the Instituto Tecnológico de Buenos Aires and an MBA with honours from the London Business School.
