Asanka Rodrigo, Partner at Actis, said:
“Countries like Singapore have mandated that, for example, apartment buildings of a certain size have to install charging stations.
“Charging stations are not cheap, ranging from $50,000 to $500,000 per station. Utilization rates are often low, and the high capital expenditure can be a deterrent. Moreover, the uptime of charging stations is quite poor. The biggest challenge is predicting demand certainty and increasing utilization.”
