Brian Chinappi, Partner and Head of Real Estate at Actis, commented:

“Investors increasingly understand this, and their investment committees are able to differentiate more between different markets and sectors within real estate. While some LPs remain over-allocated and are reducing their real estate allocations, others are increasing those allocations. We believe that the resilience of new-economy real estate in Asian growth markets remains attractive to investors, for example.

“Relative value matters even more. To do this well, consistently, is also going to require greater localisation, an operating mindset and deeper relevant experience.”
