  • Rahul brings nearly 20 years of experience to his role, leading the origination and execution of energy infrastructure investments for Actis initially in India and later in Southeast Asia (“SEA”).

LUXEMBOURG, 11 March 2025:  Actis, a leading global investor in sustainable infrastructure, has announced that Rahul Agrawal has been promoted to the Actis partnership. He was previously Energy Director for SEA at Actis.

Rahul, based in Singapore, has been driving growth and innovation across the energy sector in SEA for the past five years, playing an instrumental role in three major energy investments for Actis. These include: Levanta Renewables,  a platform targeting 1.5GW of capacity by 2027 in SEA, the platform made a recent acquisition of an operating 140MW solar project in Thailand and a Joint Venture for wind projects in the Philippines; Bridgin Power, a gas power platform focused on select geographies in Asia; and most recently MTerra Solar, a market-leading, first-of-its-kind 3.5GWp solar / 4.5GWh battery project in the Philippines, poised to be one of the world’s largest integrated renewables and energy storage projects[1], aiming to deliver a stable renewable power supply to the main grid of Luzon in the Philippines.

During his nearly 20-year career, Rahul has worked extensively in infrastructure and energy investing. Rahul joined Actis in 2012, initially focusing on India, where he was involved in Ostro Energy, one of India’s leading clean energy Independent Power Producers, sold to RE Energy; and Sprng Energy, a supplier of solar and wind power to electricity distribution companies in India, sold to Shell in 2022. Prior to Actis, Rahul worked as an Associate Vice President in the infrastructure private equity team at ICICI Venture and with a mezzanine fund of IL&FS.

In 2024, Actis experienced significant deal activity in Southeast Asia, investing in new markets and sectors in the Philippines, Vietnam, Thailand, and Malaysia. Following a successful year, Rahul will be responsible for Actis’ continued strategic expansion and commitment to renewable energy across various Asian markets.
