PE Hub Europe: Actis’ Jaroslava Korpanec: CEE heavily underinvested in energy
Jaroslava Korpanec, Partner, Head of Central and Eastern Europe, Energy Infrastructure at Actis, spoke with PE Hub Europe about the underinvestment in energy in Central and Eastern Europe (CEE). In the interview with PE Hub Europe, Jaroslava explains the situation, what can be done and how Actis is taking action through Rezolv Energy, its flagship renewable energy platform in the region which has acquired the rights to build and operate a 1,044MW solar plant in Romania – set to become the largest in Europe. “The region is heavily underinvested in energy assets which would lead to decarbonisation of the region as well as establish its independence away from Russian gas supplies. The issue of security of energy supply in the region can only be resolved with significant investment in the renewable energy sector.
“If you’re putting a huge number of renewables online, you of course need to invest in strengthening the existing grids.”
